Join Penthelia Singers for an afternoon of Canadian music, including a selection of music based on Inuit poetry and folk songs. Special guest, Raigelee Alorut, will present a throat singing demonstration as part of the concert. Other music includes works by Srul Irving Glick, Mark Sirett, and Meaghan Smith. Penthelia Singers are back in full swing, preparing for an exciting 2017-18 season. On Sunday December 3rd, we will continue our celebration of Canada 150 with a musical exploration of “The Canadian Landscape”. Our spring concert on Sunday June 3 will surely delight with selections from “Bach to Broadway”. In late August and early September, Penthelia Singers will be holding auditions for the 2017-2018 season. Come join this enthusiastic and committed group of women who delight in the joy of singing! Prospective members should have choral experience, and some sight-singing ability. Regular rehearsals will begin Wednesday September 13 at 7:30, and the choir performs at least two major concerts each year. To inquire about an audition, contact pentheliasingers@gmail.com.
